Celebrating 150 years of Faith, Heritage and Hope

Last weekend, students, teachers, and alumni alike celebrated 150 years of Catholic Secondary Education in Dunedin, a monumental milestone. Since the doors of the old Christian Brothers' School were opened in 1876, our community has grown upon a foundation rooted in the Gospel's teachings.

Throughout 150 years of history, our Special Character has remained at the core of who we are. It is seen in our commitment to Social Justice and the strong spirit of service our students demonstrate within and beyond the school. Looking back at the past century and a half, we give thanks to all teachers, the religious orders, families and students who have shaped the vibrant sense of community in our college that we all cherish today.

As we celebrate this landmark year, we look forward to the future with steady faith and confidence that the light of our heritage will continue to guide us.

150th Anniversary Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We give You thanks for the 150-year journey of our school community.

We honour those who came before us — their vision, courage, and unwavering faith that built the foundation we stand on today.

Bless our current students, staff, and families as we carry this tradition forward.

Grant us the grace to walk in love, live with integrity, and serve one another with generous hearts.

May Your Spirit continue to guide our school into the future,

that we may always be a light of hope, truth, and compassion in our world.

We ask this through Christ our Lord,

Amen.
