World Junior Squash Champs for Former Student

Former Student Aria Bannister has recently been away at the World Junior Squash Champs in Egypt with the NZ Junior Girls team. During the first week she had two good wins against opponents from Portugal and Russia. NZ took 6 boys and 6 girls to the championships. After the individual champs, 2 players left heading back to NZ before the start of the second week, involving the teams event.
Aria is one of the 4 girls competing in the teams event for NZ, with 3 players contesting every tie. This additional competition is offering further exposure at an international level for Aria. On a world scale, Egypt is the Mecca of squash, where their National Players totally dominate the men’s and woman’s game.
Aria's next goal is in 8 weeks time where she will contest the NZ Age Group champs in Auckland - She will be in her first year competing in the U19 Age group division. Trinity Catholic College wishes Aria all the best.
