Gifted and Talented Option for Year 7 & 8 starts next term!

There has been an exciting development in how Trinity Catholic College provides for its GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) students in Year 7-9! Historically it has been a satellite class that has involved students coming out of timetabled classes. This year we have decided to offer it as an option class. In the first semester, terms one and two, this class was for our Y9 students, and in the upcoming semester, terms 3 and 4, will be for our Y7s and 8s.

The same sorts of things will be offered as the previous satellite class with emphasis on thinking and philosophy, exploring the Socratic method, paradoxes, and puzzles, before delving deeper into ethics, law, and politics. The second half of each semester will be spent with students focussing on a personal passion project that they choose for themselves - be it scientific, artistic, writing, language, social justice, or historical weaponry!
