We improved 6 places on 2023!
Last week the Trinity Catholic College Senior A netball team travelled to Christchurch for the SISS netball tournament. On the first day we came up against Menzies and Blue Mountain facing two difficult losses, and on the second day facing South Otago A in the morning which was another unfortunate loss. That put us into the bottom 16 of B grade.
That afternoon and the following day we were able to pull out three wins against Motueka, Garin College and Riccarton putting us in the top 4 of the bottom half of B grade. Our final day was very tough, unfortunately losing both our final games against Westland and Grey mouth putting us in 20th place in B grade out of 32, which is 6 places higher than last year.
The tournament was a great way to farewell four of our year 13 students and we had a lot of fun times, especially perfecting our karaoke skills. The tournament was such a fun experience for everyone and the team grew closer each and every day. A special thank you to the four Junior A girls that came with us to fill in positions, and another huge thank you to Coach Jill Mitchell-Larrivee and co- managers Rachel Mortimer and Melissa Golden for giving up their time and coming to support the team, we really appreciate it.
Thank you to all of those who sponsored us; Programmed NZ, Harrows Collision Repair, Action Engineering, Frank Broomhall Property Services and family and friends of all players. Thanks to Ruth Kelsall for the monogrammed hair ribbons and Melissa Golden for the badges for the girls. We were lucky to have a number of family members in person to support us and we appreciated all the messages of those back in Dunedin.
