Trinity Represents at Asia Pacific Touch Cup (Japan)

A massive congratulations to our Year 13 Dean and Inspiring Female Athlete Naomi Tupa'i, and Matua Tim Lucas, who has been away in Japan over the recent holiday break representing New Zealand in the Asia Pacific Touch Cup.

Naomi helped power the New Zealand Women’s 27 team to gold in the extra-time thriller against Australia in Utsunomiya, Japan, on Saturday! With scores locked at 3–3 at full-time, the final moved into a tense drop-off/extra-time period. Naomi delivered an outstanding performance alongside Otago teammate Dayna Turnbull, demonstrating remarkable skill and composure under intense pressure before NZ scored the golden point try in the dying moments to secure a sensational victory.

Matua Tim Lucas had an exceptional tournament on the whistle, refereeing the top-tier Men’s 30s Gold Medal Final between Australia and New Zealand. Tim earned a remarkable #2 overall ranking among 60 Federation of International Touch referees selected for this event.

What a way to end an awesome campaign for this talented duo. Congratulations Naomi and Tim for representing NZ at the Asia Pacific Cup, and also, WAY TO GO TRINITY!
