150th Anniversary Student Activities

By Kate Nicholson | Posted: Wednesday October 14, 2026

Next Wednesday afternoon, during period 5, we will be commemorating our 150th Anniversary of Catholic Secondary School Education in Dunedin with our student community.

All year levels have contributed towards three time capsules to be opened in 50 years time - we hope some of our current students will be able to attend the celebrations that happen in 2076! The Year 13 Time Capsule will be buried on Wednesday. The Year 13 Leavers of 2026 have gifted a beautiful plaque and Kōwahi tree which they will plant near the black gates, and we are grateful to Patston Media who are helping us set up and take a drone photo and video with some of our students creating a 150 shape on the Mercy Field. If your child does not consent to be on film in this footage, they can let their dean know this. Please be aware that these activities may finish a little earlier than 3pm, and students may be released slightly earlier than usual.
