Our students are getting involved in Healthy Harbour Watchers

This is a twice termly opportunity for students to participate in some 'real world Science' and we have a team of volunteers.

For many years, some school groups have engaged with the Healthy Harbour Watcher group to monitor the health of our Otago harbour. The group is led by two retired Science teachers and is in collaboration with the Chemistry department at the University of Otago.

Students head out on a Saturday to collect water samples which are then taken back to the laboratory to do some testing. The data has been collected for more than a decade and provides valuable information. It suits any senior student who is interested in the environment and Science.

Mrs Thomson heads out with the group. It is twice a term on a Saturday and takes the whole morning. Contact her if you would like to get involved.
