Course Outline
The course aims to develop critical thinking by exploring and interpreting language and literature. Students will read texts from both Aotearoa New Zealand and global perspectives. Students will have the opportunity to develop their writing skills in a range of contexts, as well as deliver an effective oral presentation.
Credits in this course enable students to meet the literacy requirements for University Entrance, namely:
10 credits at Level 2 in English - achieve at least 5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing

Where Does It Lead
Students looking to take Level 3 English should select this course rather than Level 2 English Literacy to better prepare them for the understanding of literature required at NCEA Level 3.
