Course Outline
Level 2 English deepens critical thinking and develops more advanced literacy skills through the study of complex texts. Students examine literature and film from Aotearoa New Zealand and global perspectives, while also carrying out their own independent research. Through crafting various written texts and delivering an oral presentation, students develop key communication skills required for Level 3 NCEA. Credits in this course enable students to meet the literacy requirements for University Entrance, namely 5 credits in Reading and 5 credits in Writing.

Where Does It Lead
Students looking to take Level 3 English should select this course rather than Level 2 English Foundation to better prepare them for the understanding of literature required at NCEA Level 3.
